It didn’t take long for Washington Wizards newcomer Russell Westbrook to make an impression in Washington.
The All-Star reportedly showed up to his first Wizards practice extremely early and set a noticeable tone.
The Wizards recently acquired Westbrook from the Houston Rockets in exchange for point guard John Wall and a 2023 first-round pick.
Westbrook, 32, is still in the prime of his career. He averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game last season.
However, Westbrook and superstar James Harden did not hit it off in their reunion campaign in Houston. The Rockets lost in five games to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2020 playoffs.
Harden reportedly prefers to play alongside Wall over Westbrook.
The change of scenery didn’t appear to bother Westbrook, who reportedly wanted to be the man again. The 2017 MVP is playing in the Eastern Conference for the first time in his career.
