Report: Arrest warrant issued for Ravens fan accused of assaulting Commanders fans in viral video

A Baltimore Ravens fan was recently recorded assaulting a pair of Washington Commanders fans. The alleged assault occurred after a Week 6 game between the Ravens and Commanders, which Baltimore won by a final score of 30-23.

The Ravens fan — who was donning a Lamar Jackson jersey — appeared to kick and punch one of the Commanders fans before swinging at the other, shoving him into a brick wall and throwing him to the ground. Following the altercation, the Baltimore supporter appeared to flex one of his arms and say, “I don’t lose!”

The disturbing video made the rounds on social media.

The Baltimore fan in the video has since been identified, and a warrant is reportedly now out for his arrest.

“Baltimore Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man they allege is depicted in a viral video attacking two men after the Ravens-Commanders game, a clip that’s racked up tens of millions of views and drew widespread condemnation,” wrote Dylan Segelbaum and Cody Boteler of the Baltimore Banner.

“Jack Callis, 24, of Baltimore, is wanted on one count of first-degree assault and three counts of second-degree assault, police reported on Thursday.

“Patrick Seidel, one of Callis’ attorneys, said prosecutors told him in the morning that they were bringing charges.”

To add insult to injury, not only is Callis facing assault charges, but he’s also down a job. He was previously employed by an insurance agency named Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc., but the company announced on X that he is no longer working there.

“MDP has a zero-tolerance policy for violence and aggressive behavior,” the company wrote. “This individual is no longer employed with our firm.”

Seidel, part of Callis’ legal team, claimed that Callis will cooperate with police and turn himself in.

“I don’t have any discovery. I don’t even have the charging document,” Seidel said. “And he’s fully cooperative, and he’s going to voluntarily surrender himself.”

The Ravens and Commanders are connected in the sense that both teams play their home games in the state of Maryland. They’re also two of the better teams in their respective divisions, as Washington sits atop the NFC East standings with a 4-2 record, and the Ravens are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the best record of any team in the AFC North at 4-2.

So, maybe those facts heightened tensions between fans of the two teams during and after the Oct. 13 matchup. Regardless, it certainly appears as though Callis crossed way over any acceptable line regarding fan behavior.

Baltimore has consistently been one of the better NFL teams for quite a bit now, but not a lot of people likely projected the Commanders to have such a strong start to the 2024 regular season. Washington won just four of its 17 games during the 2023 regular season and ended up with the worst record in its division.
