Dion Dawkins wants Tee Higgins on Bills: ‘As long as we not getting no Jets guys, I’m good’

Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins made a pitch to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins on Tuesday, and he also took a shot at the New York Jets.

Higgins, who was franchise tagged by the Bengals earlier this offseason, recently requested a trade from the team.

It’s unclear if the Bengals will honor the trade request, but if they do, Dawkins wouldn’t mind seeing the star wideout in Buffalo in the 2024 season.

“First of all, it would definitely work,” Dawkins said of the Bills potentially adding Higgins. “As long as we not getting no Jets guys, I’m good. I am cool. Tee Higgins is a player that can help Josh [Allen] and help this team get to where we have to go.”

Clearly, Dawkins has very little love for the division rival Jets, but he didn’t stop there with his pitch to Higgins.

“I don’t really look too much into who we’re going after and all this stuff, but if they’re talking about Tee Higgins, then Tee Higgins — come on over, bro,” Dawkins said. “And let’s get this thing done.”

The Bills lost receiver Gabe Davis in free agency on Monday, as he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, so it’s possible that the team is in the market for a receiver like Higgins to pair with Stefon Diggs on the outside.

Buffalo has come up short in the playoffs in recent seasons, but the team wants to make the Super Bowl and dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC. Dawkins is clearly confident in the team’s ability to do that, as he signed an extension with Buffalo that is worth $60.5 million.

It’s unclear if the Bengals would be willing to move Higgins to another team in the AFC, especially a contender like Buffalo.

Cincy made the Super Bowl in the 2021 season, but the team failed to make the playoffs last season after Joe Burrow went down with a wrist injury.

While Dawkins would like to see Higgins in Buffalo, the Bills better be careful about adding any Jets players after the star offensive tackle’s comments.

Dawkins’ dig at his division rival could add a little extra fuel to the Bills-Jets matchups in the 2024 season.
