The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in an epic AFC Championship Game over the weekend.

Following the game, Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire offered a message of support for Bengals standout rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

“Not too many opportunities to go up there and get that s—. Hey, we went up there, go get that bro. Go get that,” Edwards-Helaire said. “I said, ‘Aye, you gonna be the greatest receiver to ever do this s—.’ Don’t ever let anybody tell you nothing different. Go get you a ring, bring that s— back home and handle business.”

The video captures a really special moment between two competitors who clearly have a very strong relationship off the field.

It’s no mystery where their brotherly relationship began. The two were stars at Louisiana State University before bursting onto the scene at the NFL level.

In terms of bursting onto the scene, few have done so in as spectacular a manner as Chase. In his rookie year, the star brought in 81 catches for a stunning 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. It marks one of the most incredible rookie years in the history of the league.

Chase recorded the first playoff touchdown of his young career in his team’s overtime win over the Chiefs. So far this postseason, he’s recorded 20 catches for 279 yards and one touchdown.

Now, Chase and the Bengals will look to defeat the Los Angeles Rams in the upcoming Super Bowl. The Bengals were not really considered a playoff team before the onset of the 2021 regular season. Now, they’ll be battling it out for football’s greatest prize.

If the Bengals do manage to overcome the Rams and bring a Super Bowl trophy back to Cincinnati, there is no doubt that Chase will play a major role in accomplishing that goal.

As for Edwards-Helaire, he’ll certainly be cheering on his close friend from the couch.
