According to a report, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is likely going to require offseason surgery to repair his torn labrum.

Barring a setback, he’s reportedly expected to be able to play through the injury until the offseason arrives.

Mayfield is going to miss the Browns’ Week 7 game due to the injury. The team will roll with Case Keenum in place of Mayfield.

Mayfield is in the midst of his fourth season at the NFL level. So far in the 2021 campaign, he has completed 67.1 percent of his passes for 1,474 yards and six touchdowns in six games.

The former first-round pick led the Browns to the playoffs last season, but this season, Cleveland is just 3-3. The team is likely going to need to turn things around in order to crack the playoffs.

It’ll be interesting to see how Mayfield performs for the remainder of the campaign, as he’s clearly not at 100 percent.
