J.J. Watt apologizes to Deshaun Watson for abysmal season: ‘I’m sorry, we wasted one of your years’

Houston Texans star J.J. Watt apologized to quarterback Deshaun Watson after the Texans’ dismal 4-12 record this season.

“Good job brother,” Watt said to Watson. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. We wasted one of your years. I’m sorry. I mean, we should have 11 wins. We should.”

The Texans struggled mightily this season and fired head coach Bill O’Brien early in the campaign.

They allowed the third-most yards in the NFL this season, and as Watt said, essentially wasted another fantastic year by Watson.

Watson finished the season with 4,823 passing yards and 33 touchdown passes. He threw just seven interceptions and ran for another 444 yards and three scores.

Houston traded star wideout DeAndre Hopkins last offseason, and it didn’t pay off as the team sunk to the bottom of the AFC South.

To make matters worse, the Miami Dolphins own the Texans’ first-round pick (No. 3 overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Unless Houston can hit on some draft steals or free agent signings, the Texans could be looking at another rough season in 2021.
