The rumor mill has been churning over the last couple of weeks after it became known that three-time Pro Bowler Deshaun Watson is very unhappy with the Houston Texans.
Earlier this week, Waston officially requested to be traded, and the consensus has been that it’ll be only a matter of time until he is sent elsewhere.
However, new head coach David Culley is under the impression that Watson isn’t going anywhere.
This is somewhat of a typical response from a new head coach that is fully aware of the situation with an unhappy superstar.
Culley is trying to say all the right things while staying optimistic about his new job, but the writing is on the wall in Houston.
The expectation is that Watson will be traded, with New York Jets and Miami Dolphins labeled as the current favorites. Both teams have the assets and could use a quarterback of his caliber under center.
Although the Jets and Dolphins are rumored to be at the top of the list of destinations, a report surfaced on Thursday that Watson would waive his no-trade clause for several different teams.
Needless to say, the situation in Houston has yet to be resolved, and there’s no telling where Watson will end up suiting up to start the 2021 NFL season.
