Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was wounded in a shooting at a nightclub overnight in Florida.

Dell reportedly was a bystander to an incident that saw 10 people get shot. He has since been released from the hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

The Texans released a statement on social media, stating that they are in contact with Dell and that the young star receiver is in “good spirits.”

Dell wasn’t the only person caught in the crossfire at the nightclub. According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, it appears that an argument escalated that led to gunfire. Luckily, it appears none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a 16-year-old, was reportedly booked into a nearby juvenile detention center.

It’s certainly a scary situation, and luckily, it appears that Dell and the other victims will be okay.

Several members of the NFL community posted on social media following the alarming news.

Many were glad that the star receiver seemingly avoided a major injury.

Dell is a key cog to a Houston offense that now features Stefon Diggs on the outside after the team acquired him in a deal with the Buffalo Bills. Diggs, Dell and Nico Collins could form one of the NFL’s best receiving trios in the 2024 season.

Houston made a massive leap in the 2023 season, winning the AFC South and making the playoffs behind stellar play from rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Dell, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, made a major impact as well in 11 games. He caught 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns. Unfortunately, a leg injury caused him to miss the last five games of the regular season and Houston’s two playoff games.

The young receiver had three games where he tallied over 100 receiving yards, including multiple games with over 140 receiving yards. Dell also had five touchdown catches in a span of four games before he went down with the injury.

Hopefully, Dell will be able to recover from the shooting and get back to football soon for the Texans. The team clearly has some high hopes in the 2024 season after making such a solid run in Stroud’s rookie season.
