Eli Manning issues touching message to honor Peyton’s entry into Hall of Fame

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning took to social media to pay tribute to his older brother Peyton on Sunday morning.

Peyton Manning was one of eight people elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Peyton Manning played 17 seasons in the NFL, starting off his career with 13 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. After sitting out the 2011 season with a neck injury, he signed to play with the Denver Broncos for the final four years of his career.

Peyton Manning was able to lead each organization to Super Bowl titles, with his championship for the Broncos putting a cap on his legendary career.

Even without those two championships, Peyton Manning was destined to be an automatic selection to the football shrine.

During his career he threw for an incredible 71,940 yards and tossed 539 touchdown passes. In both categories, he ranks third all time among NFL passers behind fellow legends Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

While Eli Manning has only been retired for one season, he very well could also end up as a member of the Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible later in the decade.

In his 16 seasons with the Giants, he threw for 57,023 yards and 366 touchdowns and matched his brother by leading his team to a pair of Super Bowl titles.
