The Indianapolis Colts activated quarterback Carson Wentz from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday.
It was a short stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list for Wentz. There wasn’t much concern about him missing the season opener, and it does indeed look like he’ll be ready to go in Week 1.
That’s good news for the Colts, who are alarmingly thin at the quarterback position. With Sam Ehlinger hitting the injured reserve list, Jacob Eason will serve as the backup quarterback for a little while. Eason hasn’t taken a snap in a regular season game.
Indianapolis is certainly hoping that Wentz will be able to stay on the field. The 28-year-old is hoping to pump some new life into his football career.
In the 2020 season, Wentz threw a league-worst 15 interceptions and completed just 57.4 percent of his passes. He was also sacked more than any other quarterback in the league.
The former first-round pick is looking for some different results in the upcoming campaign.
