Footage of a car accident that involved six vehicles — allegedly including a vehicle belonging to Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice — was leaked to the public on Sunday.
According to officials who spoke with the Dallas Morning News, the accident occurred in Dallas on Saturday at approximately 6:20 p.m. CST in the 6600 block of North Central Expressway.
Police are looking for Rice due to the role he allegedly played in the accident.
Per Dallas police spokeswoman Kristin Lowman, an investigation indicated that both a driver in a Lamborghini as well as a Chevrolet Corvette — the car a police call sheet listed Rice as the suspected driver of — were traveling at high rates of speed before both operators lost control.
As a result, the Lamborghini “hit the center median wall, causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles,” according to Lowman. Lowman also claimed that the driver of the Corvette along with the driver of the Lamborghini ran from the scene following the crash and didn’t go out of their ways to check on the other folks who were involved in the accident.
Two drivers received medical treatment at the site of the crash for their minor injuries, while two others were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Spokespeople who work with the Chiefs organization plus a representative from Rice’s marketing team have yet to comment on the matter despite receiving requests to do so.
Kayla Quinn, a 27-year-old who was involved in the car crash, expressed disappointment that the Lamborghini and Corvette drivers didn’t check to make sure that people in the other cars weren’t too worse for the wear.
“No one stopped,” Quinn told the Dallas Morning News. “We had children, like, we had kids, you know what I’m saying? It’s the fact that there was no sympathy shown to where y’all can even have the decency to stop and check to make sure someone’s OK, someone’s alive, you know?”
Rice is not far removed from a statistically impressive 2023 regular season with the Chiefs. He appeared in 16 of Kansas City’s 17 regular-season contests as a rookie and finished with 938 receiving yards, seven receiving touchdowns and 44 first downs receiving.
In addition, he averaged 65.5 receiving yards per game during the Chiefs’ playoff run, which ended in a Super Bowl title.
