D.K. Metcalf confronts high schooler after hearing Jalen Ramsey’s name in trash-talk

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf had a testy exchange with a high school football player in a video that has gone viral on TikTok.

In the video, the high schooler can be heard dropping the name of Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a player that Metcalf has admitted sometimes gives him trouble on the field.

After the student seemingly suggested that film shows that Metcalf has struggled with Ramsey in the NFL, the Seahawks wide receiver exchanged words with the youngster before ultimately wishing the student “good luck” on his football journey.

Metcalf has had an impressive career in the NFL so far, totaling near or over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his five NFL seasons. His career-low in receiving yards came during his rookie season when he finished with 900, still a very respectable mark.

Last season, the former second-round pick earned his second Pro Bowl nod after catching 66 passes for 1,114 yards and eight touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the 2023 season was Ramsey’s first with the Dolphins. Despite only appearing in 10 games in the regular season, he still did enough to earn a Pro Bowl selection, finishing with three interceptions and five passes defended.

Back when Ramsey was a member of the Los Angeles Rams, he and Metcalf were in the same division, so they crossed paths often. Some of those matchups may still be on the mind of the student featured in the viral video.

Metcalf and Ramsey are both hoping to be part of contending teams this season, with the Seahawks looking to make some noise in the NFC and Dolphins looking to do the same in the AFC. Seattle missed the playoffs last season, while Miami earned a bid before taking a first-round exit.

The Seahawks and Dolphins will face off this coming season, which should give fans a chance to see Metcalf and Ramsey on the same field once again. If the stars align, the two teams could potentially even meet in the Super Bowl — but a lot would have to happen for that scenario to come to life.
