Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill might’ve just stirred the pot once more, as some comments he made about the top quarterbacks in the NFL are raising some eyebrows.

Hill listed his top five quarterbacks in the NFL (in no particular order), and Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was nowhere to be found within Hill’s list.

While it’s certainly up for debate whether Tagovailoa is among the top five quarterbacks in the league (and it may even be a bit of a reach to put him there), there are a couple of reasons why Hill’s comments are noteworthy.

For one, whether Hill believes Tagovailoa is one of the five best quarterbacks in the league or not, players often include their teammates in conversations like that just out of principle. It can be seen as a way to support each other and make sure that teammates get their respect.

But perhaps more importantly, Hill has historically shown a specific desire to prop Tagovailoa up in a major way. He has called him the most accurate quarterback in the NFL on more than one occasion and defended him from criticism.

Last summer, he even included Tagovailoa while naming his top five quarterbacks in the league. Evidently, something has changed.

Hill has made many headlines in recent months due to questions about his future and off-the-field issues. Right now, it seems like he’s on track to return to the Dolphins for the 2025 season, but that didn’t always feel like a guarantee, and there is still time for Miami to move on from him this offseason if the right opportunity presents itself.

Tagovailoa’s exclusion from Hill’s recent list might have simply been an oversight by the veteran receiver, or it might have been a moment of Hill just being brutally honest. But whatever the case may be, the Dolphins have to hope that Tagovailoa and Hill will be on the same page by the time next season rolls around if they’re going to be trusted as a dynamic duo for Miami.
