Tyreek Hill unfazed by Miami Dolphins losses: ‘I know Grier in his bag secretly right now’

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill didn’t seem bothered by the team’s losses in free agency so far this offseason.

He also shouted out Dolphins general manager Chris Grier on social media. Grier has made some shrewd moves in the past, including acquiring Hill in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s possible that Hill is right, as the Dolphins did make a positive move on Monday afternoon, restructuring the contract of five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead.

This is a huge move for the team, as it keeps one of the best protectors of Tua Tagovailoa on the roster in the 2024 campaign.

Even though that move was a positive for Miami, the team still lost some key players on Monday.

Star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins reportedly agreed to a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, creating a major hole on the defensive line for the Dolphins.

A first-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2019 NFL Draft, Wilkins has spent the last five seasons with the franchise, becoming one of the team’s most important defensive players. Wilkins has racked up 20.5 sacks, 355 tackles, four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries in his NFL career.

Miami also lost offensive lineman Robert Hunt, who signed a major deal with the Carolina Panthers. That makes the Dolphins move to keep Armstead on the roster even more important.

Hunt has started 55 of the 61 games he’s appeared in his NFL career – all for Miami.

Miami also lost Andrew Van Ginkel and Brandon Jones in free agency on Monday – two more huge losses for the team’s defense. The Dolphins had already moved on from linebacker Jerome Baker and former Pro-Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard as well this offseason.

The Dolphins still are going to be a dangerous team as long as Hill and Tua Tagovailoa are on the roster.

Hopefully, the Dolphins can fill some of the holes left by Monday’s departures through free agency or in the 2024 NFL Draft. Miami has made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, and the team would hate to take a step back and miss the playoffs in the 2024 campaign.
