Tyreek Hill’s ex-teammate reveals what happened on FaceTime after injury

The Miami Dolphins are no longer winless in the 2025 NFL season, as they earned a 27-21 victory over a fellow AFC East team in the New York Jets on Monday. However, the win was marred by a catastrophic injury to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who dislocated his knee and suffered multiple torn ligaments in it. He will miss the rest of the season.

On the bright side, Hill at least appears not to have let the injury dampen his spirits too much. His ex-teammate Terron Armstead revealed the nature of a FaceTime conversation he had with the receiver after he went down with his injury. Somehow, the first thing Hill said on the call was how he was happy the Dolphins won the game.

It seems as if it could be a long time before Hill takes the field to suit up in an NFL contest once again. Not only will he miss the remainder of this season, but it has been reported that he faces a “long road ahead” for 2026.

The injury could possibly spell the end of Hill’s tenure in Miami. He’s already on the other side of 30 years old, and it’s been a little while since he last looked like a premier receiver. There’s now even more reason to be skeptical that he will ever get back to being an elite player at his position in light of his injury.

Hill and Armstead spent the 2022, 2023 and 2024 seasons as teammates on the Dolphins, though their time together came to a close once Armstead opted to retire from the league following the 2024 campaign.

He called it quits on his career after he logged 12 NFL seasons, the lion’s share of those coming with the New Orleans Saints. But Armstead carved out some really strong seasons with Miami at the tail end of his pro tenure, as he earned two Pro Bowl selections with the Dolphins.

Clearly, Armstead and Hill still have a tight bond even if they’re no longer playing alongside one another, and hopefully the former will work to comfort the latter in his lengthy recovery process.
