Patriots Could Be Without Multiple Wide Receivers for Cam Newton’s Team Debut

The New England Patriots will begin the Cam Newton-era on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, but the Pats offense may not be at full strength.

The Patriots will be without receiver Gunner Olszewski and could be without wideout N’Keal Harry as well.

Harry, 22, was the Patriots first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

However, he struggled in his rookie campaign, catching just 12 passes for a 105 yards and two touchdowns. He also appeared in just seven of the Patriots’ 16 regular season games.

Harry is listed as a starting wide receiver, along with Julian Edelman, on the Patriots’ official depth chart.

Since he is expected to play a major role in the offense, losing Harry would be a tough pill to swallow in Newton’s debut.

The Patriots lost longtime quarterback Tom Brady this past offseason. He departed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency.

Newton will look to fill Brady’s shoes on Sunday against Miami even if he has a limited receiving core.
