Even though a trade involving quarterback Aaron Rodgers has yet to be completed, he is reportedly offering the New York Jets his wish list of potential free agents for the team.

Rodgers’ long tenure with the Green Bay Packers appears to be coming to an end, with the team appearing ready to deal the veteran away this offseason. His connection to the Packers helps explain why some of his Green Bay teammates are among the players on his wish list.

The Jets have been heavily linked to the 39-year-old, who has already stamped his ticket to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Randall Cobb turns 33 in August and has spent most of his career with the Packers. During his time in Green Bay, he has caught 532 passes, with Rodgers throwing most of those tosses.

Allen Lazard is only 27 but has offered Rodgers a big target during his time with the Packers. At 6-foot-5, Lazard has 168 receptions over the past four seasons and a combined 14 touchdowns over the past two years.

At 38 years old, Marcedes Lewis has started at tight end for Green Bay for most of the past five seasons after spending his first 12 NFL seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s a massive presence, though he finished the 2022 season with just six receptions.

Odell Beckham Jr. represents a potential major boost for any team that does sign him. He turned 30 in November and sat out all last season after suffering an injury in the Super Bowl over a year ago.

Beckham has 531 career receptions. However, he comes with a certain amount of baggage as well as uncertainty after his year-long layoff.

As a member of the Cleveland Browns in 2021, Beckham was released amid some reported controversy between him and quarterback Baker Mayfield.

In addition, Beckham was again involved in controversy when he was removed from an American Airlines flight last November. That messy situation came at a time when he was looking to sign with another NFL team.

Exactly when a Jets deal for Rodgers may get completed is unknown. However, it seems clear that if and when he does arrive, he is hoping to throw to some familiar faces this coming season.
