Report: Jets and Saints high on Davante Adams’ wish list

Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams reportedly has two teams that have gotten off to mediocre starts to the 2024 regular season on his wish list in the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints.

Interestingly, Adams’ current team — the Raiders — shares an identical record with the Jets and Saints at 2-2, and Las Vegas even picked up a win in its most recent game against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 29.

Adams is in his third season as a member of the Raiders and has put up gaudy numbers across three games played with the team. He has totaled 209 receiving yards, 10 first downs receiving and one receiving touchdown.

While the Raiders own a respectable record, it becomes easier to understand why Adams reportedly wants out of Las Vegas when considering how Gardner Minshew has fared as the team’s starting quarterback. After all, Minshew has thrown as many interceptions as touchdowns in four starts with the Raiders thus far. Additionally, he has averaged only 6.52 adjusted yards gained per pass attempt in his first season with Las Vegas.

Both Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr have taken better care of the ball for the Jets and Saints. The former has five passing touchdowns compared to only one interception under his belt and is averaging 212.3 passing yards gained per game played, while the latter has six passing touchdowns and three interceptions to his name.

Carr and Rodgers are also far more experienced NFL quarterbacks than Minshew is. Minshew is just his sixth season in the NFL, while Rodgers and Carr each have been in the league for more than 10 seasons. In fact, Rodgers is widely considered to be one of the greatest signal-callers ever to play in the league, as he has 59,904 total passing yards to his name, which ranks as the ninth-most of any player in NFL history.

Maybe Adams will team up with one of Carr or Rodgers in the near future. It may be in the best interest of his NFL career to do so.
