Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson came under serious fire when he shared offensive and anti-Semitic comments on social media.

While he later apologized, few seemed inclined to forgive him.

Now, it looks like Jackson will go further to try to prove that he regrets the damaging stereotypes he shared on Instagram.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Jackson will now accompany Holocaust survivor Edward Mosberg to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.

“NFL football star DeSean Jackson has accepted an invitation by Holocaust survivor Edward Mosberg to visit the Auschwitz concentration camp following controversy over posting a quote by Adolf Hitler over Instagram,” Aaron Reich of the Jerusalem Post wrote.

“This announcement was made during a Zoom video call between Jackson and Mosberg, who held the call dressed in the uniform he wore in Mathausen.”

Jackson posted a caption from the Zoom call to his Instagram with a powerful message to boot.

Interestingly, former NBA star Stephen Jackson, who has become a major voice in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd, also came under fire for initially supporting the Eagles receiver.

Stephen Jackson went on to share some anti-Semitic messages of his own.

As for the NFL star, his decision to visit Auschwitz shows a lot of maturity as well as a desire to grow and learn.

Hopefully, his visit opens his eyes to the dangers of xenophobia and hate no matter who the victims are.
