Report: Buccaneers and Chargers were only 2 teams to seriously pursue Tom Brady last offseason

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took Super Bowl LV over the Kansas City Chiefs with a resounding 31-9 victory.

Brady now has seven championships on his resume and has solidified his resume as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.

Yet, only two teams reportedly went after Brady when he was a free agent last offseason.

The Bucs and the Los Angeles Chargers were the only teams that really pursued Brady when he decided to leave the New England Patriots.

“How could 30 teams take a look at a guy, where you didn’t even have to trade any picks to New England, you didn’t have to give up any compensation, all you had to do was hand your program to him,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said. “And there were two teams that wanted to do that.”

Brady was fantastic in Super Bowl LV, as he completed 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

The 43-year-old doesn’t seem to be done yet, either. He has another year on his deal with the Bucs and will look to make it back-to-back titles next season.
