Terrell Owens warns Stephen A. Smith to ‘keep that same energy’ if they meet in person

It doesn’t seem like the feud between Terrell Owens and Stephen A. Smith is ending anytime soon, as the NFL legend fired his latest shot at the brash analyst during an appearance on the “All the Smoke” podcast.

Their current squabble began when Owens appeared to throw his support behind Max Kellerman, who was let go from ESPN supposedly because Smith didn’t like working with his former co-host. Owens reposted an old video clip of him saying that Kellerman almost seemed “Blacker” than Smith.

Smith responded by threatening to expose Owens on his show or podcast.

Owens explained his side on Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson’s podcast. However, he also sent a warning to the ESPN analyst.

“I’m not gonna let that slide,” the five-time All-Pro selection said. “At the end of the day, and I told him, I called him, I told him, ‘Yo, keep that same energy. You’re going to call me a sorry a–, and I’m pathetic, things of that. I’m trifling.’ If I ever come across him, keep that same energy. It’s not a threat. But you’re not gonna use that platform to downgrade me as a person and what I’ve accomplished for your benefit because you have a platform to do that.”

It remains to be seen how long the beef will drag out. While it has provided some fans some entertainment amid a stretch of slow news in the NBA world, the public quarrel certainly could have been avoided if they talked it out privately.

Even Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving has tried to act as mediator, calling for the sports personalities to clear the air via a call and not on social media.

But it’s important to note that both Smith and Owens have thrived in controversies. Smith has become known for his occasional wild takes and commentaries. He has also become a famous figure for getting into shouting matches with his co-hosts and guests from time to time.

As for Owens, he became infamous for issues off the field. Moreover, he always attracted attention during his playing days because of his flamboyant celebrations after scoring touchdowns. Some of them even earned fines from the league.

Only time will tell how the feud between Smith and Owens will end. There is also the possibility that it will linger for a long time, considering their personalities and apparent disdain for one another.
