Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown boldly stated that Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark should be drafted to the NBA.
Brown’s comments on X (previously referred to as Twitter) come just days after Clark blocked him on the social media platform after the 35-year-old posted some vulgar remarks regarding Clark’s private parts.
Earlier this month, Clark was drafted by the WNBA’s Indiana Fever with the No. 1 overall pick and is already seemingly one of the league’s biggest draws, as the Fever’s average sold ticket prices for the 2024 season reportedly have more than doubled compared to the season prior.
Clark and the Fever will kick off their 2024 regular season with a matchup against the Connecticut Sun on May 14, which is less than one month away.
The 22-year-old had one of the best careers in the history of college basketball from a 3-point shooting perspective, considering she broke the NCAA record for most shots made from deep in a single season in her fourth and final season playing for the University of Iowa.
Brown, on the other hand, has played 12 seasons in the NFL, with his most recent season coming in 2021 when he suited up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.
At his peak, Brown was one of the most talented and productive players at the wide receiver position in the NFL. He earned six consecutive Pro Bowl appearances in a stretch during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers that spanned from the 2013 season through the 2018 season.
Brown also finished second in the NFL AP Offensive Player of the Year voting on multiple occasions during that six-season span.
But Brown’s mental health has been called into question in recent years. Brown claimed that the Buccaneers offered him a hefty sum of $200,000 so that the wide receiver could seek treatment for his mental health.
“These guys at Tampa Bay Bucs tried to make an agreement with me to give me $200,000 to go to the crazy house so these guys could look like they know what they talking about,” Brown said.
If Brown is indeed dealing with mental health issues, here’s to hoping that he will get treatment in the near future.
