Golden State Warriors star forward Jimmy Butler got off to a strong start to his tenure with the team from a scoring perspective. He scored 19 or more points in every one of his first four games as a Warrior but has cooled off since then.
Butler has scored just 32 points combined over his last three games played with Golden State, and he dropped only six points in a recent contest against the Sacramento Kings on March 13.
But Butler doesn’t seem concerned at all by his lack of scoring as of late. He provided a team-first response on the subject that fans of the Warriors are sure to love.

Butler might not be on a scoring tear at the moment, but he’s making an impact in other ways. For one, he’s been quite an effective playmaker for the Warriors lately. In the month of March, he’s dishing out 6.1 assists per game and totaled double digits in that stat for the first time as a Warrior against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 10.
He’s also served as a reliable presence on the glass lately, as he’s pulling down 5.6 rebounds per contest this month.
The decision to trade for Butler ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline has seemingly turned the Warriors’ season around. Prior to trading for Butler, the Warriors hovered around the .500 mark for a good chunk of the campaign.
Now, the Warriors sit as the No. 6 seed in the West and could leapfrog even more teams in the standings before the end of the campaign if they can keep up this level of play. Golden State is 3.5 games back of the No. 2 seed Houston Rockets in the conference standings with 15 contests remaining on its schedule.
Butler and the Warriors will try for their eighth win in a row when they take on the Denver Nuggets at Chase Center on Monday night. Golden State is tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the longest active winning streak of any team in the Western Conference and NBA after the Cleveland Cavaliers saw their winning streak get snapped at 16 games on Sunday.
