Report: Kyrie Irving could be allowed to play in Brooklyn Nets home games soon

Brooklyn Nets superstar guard Kyrie Irving could be available for the team’s home games soon, as New York City apparently has a plan in place to phase out its current COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

Irving has been unable to play in Nets home games this season, as he remains unvaccinated against COVID-19.

The seven-time All-Star has appeared in just 14 games this season, averaging 24.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from 3-point land.

Brooklyn would surely love to have Irving available for as many games as possible. The team is currently 31-28 and sits in the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference. If the season ended today, Brooklyn would have to play in the league’s play-in tournament.

The Nets have made some major moves recently, acquiring guards Ben Simmons and Goran Dragic.
