In a very surprising move, the Boston Celtics have reportedly acquired guard Malcolm Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers.

Although Brogdon had long been mentioned as a trade candidate, he hadn’t really been linked to the Celtics at all.

Last season, Brogdon averaged 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game for the Pacers. He’ll be able to help Marcus Smart with some of the ball-handling duties in Boston’s backcourt.

He could just be the player Boston needs to go over the hump and win an NBA title. The Celtics made it to the NBA Finals last season but lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
