One key member of the Boston Celtics will likely be leaving New England before the start of the 2020-21 NBA season.

It’s rumored that swingman Gordon Hayward will soon be on the move.

“I think for Gordon Hayward, it’s likely he already has another deal on the table,” said Chris Mannix. “It certainly doesn’t look like Gordon Hayward would ever play in a Celtics uniform again.”

Hayward had been one of the league’s better two-way wings for several years. In 2017 he was a prized free agent after a very strong All-Star season with the Utah Jazz.

The Celtics signed him to a large contract, but he suffered a horrific foot injury in the team’s 2017-18 season-opener and missed the rest of the campaign.

He had a strong bounce-back performance this past season, but again got hurt in the playoffs and only returned for the Eastern Conference Finals.
