Patrick Beverley appears to take offense to Chicago Bulls fan seemingly doubting how much they can win next season

Patrick Beverley fired back at a fan for seemingly doubting how much the Chicago Bulls can achieve in the 2023-24 season.

Beverley, who seems to want the Bulls to run it back with their roster from last season, pointed out how successful the team was after he was signed after being bought out by the Orlando Magic.

The Bulls went 13-9 in the 22 games that Beverley appeared in for them in the 2022-23 season and 14-9 overall after acquiring him. Chicago ended up making the Eastern Conference play-in tournament as the No. 10 seed and beat the No. 9-seeded Toronto Raptors in its first play-in game.

Chicago also had a lead on the Miami Heat in its second play-in game, but the team ultimately came up short. Miami earned the No. 8 seed in the East and went on to make the NBA Finals.

The 2022-23 season was a wild one for Beverley, as he was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers before the regular season began.

After playing in 45 games for the Lakers, Beverley was traded to the Orlando Magic in a deal that brought big man Mo Bamba to Los Angeles. From there, he was bought out and joined Chicago.

In 22 games with the Bulls, Beverley averaged 5.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 39.5 percent from the field. He provided the team with a steady presence at the point guard spot, and he’s always been an elite defender in his career.

With Lonzo Ball still dealing with a knee injury, the Bulls may want to bring Beverley back in free agency, especially after he fit in so well alongside Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan this season.

Chicago has to make a decision on more than just Beverley this offseason, as center Nikola Vucevic is also set to become a free agent. On the bright side for the Bulls, it was reported that the big man may be willing to take a hometown discount to stay in Chicago.

That would certainly help the Bulls add to the roster for next season.

If the Bulls play as well as they did after acquiring Beverley for an entire season, they’ll likely be one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference in the 2023-24 campaign.
