After receiving an injury scare in their Game 3 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, the Dallas Mavericks got some good news today.
After Luka Doncic sprained his left ankle in the contest, an MRI revealed “nothing alarming,” and the reigning Rookie of the Year may be able to play in Game 4.

When the injury occurred, Doncic was unable to place any weight on his left ankle as he limped through the tunnel away from the court. He attempted to return and play on it but quickly left the game again and looked visibly frustrated on the bench.
The Mavs lost Game 3 130-122, which makes Game 4 a virtual must-win contest for them.
In Doncic’s absence, fellow star Kristaps Porzingis stepped up his game. The Latvian native scored 34 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field to go with 13 rebounds in Game 3.
But the Mavs will need Doncic to bring his A game for them to have any real chance of knocking off a team that some consider the favorite to win it all.
