The status of Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is questionable for Monday night’s Game 3 playoff matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers because of a sprained right wrist.
If Jokic is unable to play because of his injury, it would take a huge component out of the Nuggets lineup. In Saturday night’s 110-101 win over the Clippers, Jokic delivered a strong performance in 37 minutes of action with 26 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.
The 25-year-old big man also serves as a shooting threat from beyond the arc, having connected on four of his five 3-point attempts in Game 2 and 80 long-range attempts during the 2019-20 season.
Jokic’s scoring outburst was a drastic contrast to his weak performance in Game 1, when he contributed only 15 points, three rebounds and three assists in the 120-97 loss. That defeat temporarily stalled the Nuggets’ momentum after they had come back from a 3-1 deficit in the first round of the postseason against Utah.
During Jokic’s five years in the NBA, he’s been a durable player for the Nuggets, sitting out only 20 regular-season games during that span.
