Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been plagued by tendinitis in his knees for a solid chunk of the 2024-25 regular season, and as a result, he’s already rested for three back-to-backs this campaign.
The Warriors have the second night of another back-to-back looming, as Golden State will take on the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. After the Warriors’ matchup against the Detroit Pistons Thursday, Curry didn’t provide a straight answer as to whether he’ll suit up against Indiana but indicated that he is working to be in a position where he can play both games of back-to-backs in due time.
Steph Curry sounded unsure if he'd play in Indianapolis tomorrow. He's been resting once in back-to-backs. Celebrini/staff will make final call. Curry: "I'm doing everything in my power to play back-to-backs eventually. Whether that's tomorrow or the next one, I don't know."

Golden State managed to come out on top over the Pistons despite a poor shooting performance from Curry. The league’s all-time leader in made 3-pointers dropped 17 points and shot just 5-of-21 from the floor and 2-of-14 from 3-point range.
The last time Curry played in only one game of a back-to-back came earlier in the month when he sat out Golden State’s bout against the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 4. He then saw the floor for the Warriors when they took on the Sacramento Kings the following day.
Curry’s scoring numbers with the Warriors this season indicate that Father Time might be starting to catch up to him after he’s been one of the top players in the league for so long. He’s averaging 22.6 points per game thus far, which marks his lowest scoring average since the 2019-20 campaign, when he appeared in only five contests.
Ever since the Warriors got off to a torrid start to this season, the team has hovered around the .500 mark of late, and another win for Golden State on Friday can improve its record to 20-18 with nearly half of the campaign in the books.
Fortunately for Curry, after Friday, the Warriors don’t have another back-to-back on its schedule for a bit.
