Former NBA player and coach Mark Jackson recently told Shannon Sharpe that Michael Jordan would dominate in today’s NBA.
Jackson explained that Jordan would average “whatever he’d want to average” in this era.
“Michael Jordan would average whatever he’d want to average,” said Jackson. “He could get 40 a night. I’m here telling you as a witness, he would average 40 a night.”
It would be very interesting to see how Jordan would perform in today’s NBA.
The Hall of Famer is undoubtedly one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game. He racked up a whopping 10 scoring titles throughout his career and averaged 30.1 points per game during his time in the NBA.
However, the NBA has certainly changed since Jordan officially called it quits on his playing days. The 3-point shot has taken over the league, and it can be very hard for modern players to be effective scorers without being a threat from beyond the arc.
Jordan was just a 32.7 percent shooter from deep during his time in the NBA.
Fans will never get a real answer as to how the 14-time All-Star would actually fare in this era of basketball, but it’s certainly a fun topic to debate about.
