Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is now expected to be a game-time decision for Game 1 of the 2021 NBA Finals on Tuesday night against the Phoenix Suns.
It was reported this morning that Antetokounmpo was expected to play at some point during the series, but his status for Game 1 had remained doubtful. While still uncertain, it seems to be growing increasingly likely that the five-time All-Star may be able to play tonight.
Perhaps the most important development here is that it looks like Antetokounmpo should be good to go for Game 2 even if he is out on Tuesday. He seems to be making some great progress on the hyperextended knee he suffered against the Atlanta Hawks.
Antetokounmpo has enjoyed an outstanding 2021 postseason. In the past, many fans were skeptical about his ability to deliver in big games, but he is putting that narrative to rest this year. Over 15 playoff games in 2021, he is averaging 28.2 points, 12.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
Coupled with the value he brings on the defensive end, Antetokounmpo has been one of the best players on the floor for any team in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
