Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has petitioned influencer Ayesha Howard — who was previously romantically involved with rapper Lil Baby — for child support and paternity, according to Page Six.
Edwards is taking her to court to verify if they had a child together. He is reportedly hoping that the court will ask for him, Howard and the child in question to undergo genetic testing.
A status conference will be held on this case on Nov. 13.
“If genetic testing shows that the petitioner is the father, the petitioner requests an order establishing the minor child’s paternity,” court documents state.
Page Six reached out to Howard to see if she would comment on the news of Edwards filing the petition, but the influencer with an excess of 600,000 followers on Instagram didn’t respond right away.
Edwards has allegedly had more than one kid in a short period of time recently. He reportedly welcomed a baby girl with his girlfriend Jeanine Robel in March. Robel also has a son with another famous individual in rapper Chief Keef.
Another woman — who goes by “Ally D” on social media — then claimed that she birthed a son of Edwards months before his girlfriend gave birth.
She also claimed that Edwards has another child with another woman and that the child in question — a girl — was born before the others.
“I’ve been nun but a great mom and a cool mf I let y’all talk what yall wanna say for MONTHS I’m such a peaceful mf I even prayed for the other children cause end of the day them my sons siblings,” she wrote in a since-expired Instagram story.
Edwards is entering his fifth season in the NBA and as a member of the Timberwolves organization. In 79 appearances in the 2023-24 regular season, he averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He also helped the Timberwolves make their deepest playoff run in a long time in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
Minnesota reached the Western Conference Finals for the first time in two decades, earning some impressive series victories before losing to the Dallas Mavericks with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.
Considering that by the time the status conference will be held, the Timberwolves’ 2024-25 regular season will be in full swing, hopefully this case won’t prove to be a distraction to Edwards and impact his play in a negative fashion.
