Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard has a penchant for taking extremely deep 3-pointers.
Now, the sharpshooter appears to be ready to extend his range to the half-court line.
“Very possible,” Lillard said when asked how feasible it was for him to shoot from half court in an actual game.
Lillard, 30, destroyed opponents with his his long-range bombs last season.
As a matter of fact, Lillard led the NBA last season with 54 makes from 30 feet or longer.
The half-court line is 47 feet from the basket in the NBA. However, that won’t stop the All-Star from attempting missiles every once in a while.
“Obviously, I’m not just going to be out here every game firing a shot from half court — or maybe not even every 20 games,” Lillard said. “It might be once or twice in the whole season that I feel like … F it.”
Last season, Lillard collected career-highs of 30.0 points and 8.0 assists per game. He led the Blazers to the playoffs.
Over the course of the Blazers’ fight to the postseason in the NBA bubble in Orlando, Fla., Lillard got into it with a few rival players. He clashed with Los Angeles Clippers players a few teams.
Although the veteran would love to blow the world away with more entertaining 3-pointers, his ultimate goal is to win a championship. Lillard has never been to the NBA Finals.
