Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard will be on the cover of NBA 2K21.

“It means a lot,” Lillard said when reflecting on the honor. “I think it’s one of those things that it’s like a signature shoe. Everybody just don’t get it. You know what I mean. To be able to join the line of players that’s been on the cover of 2K, it’s an honor. I’ve said earlier, every time I come across a game that is my favorite year of a game the way that you recognize it is by, ‘A.I (Allen Iverson) was on that cover’ or ‘Kobe [Bryant] was on that cover.’ That was my favorite one. Just to join that group and have that honor is cool.”

Lillard, 29, is one of the most beloved players in the NBA.

The veteran is putting up 28.9 points, 7.8 assists and 4.3 boards per game this season. The Blazers currently hold the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference.

Over the last few years, Lillard has cemented himself as one of the best point guards in the association. He has captivated fans with huge scoring outbursts, entertaining game-winners and numerous highlights.

Last postseason, he made the Western Conference Finals for the first time in his career.

The All-Star joins a long list of elite NBA players, including LeBron James and Kevin Durant, who have graced the cover of 2K.

Lillard has career averages of 24.0 points, 6.5 assists and 4.2 boards per contest.
