Report: LaMelo Ball held private workout for Warriors, Hornets and Pistons on Thursday

The 2020 NBA Draft is less than a week away with still no consensus on which talented young player will be taken No. 1 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

LaMelo Ball is in the running to be this year’s top pick in the draft but could easily fall to one of the three teams that watched his workout on Thursday.

“Projected No. 1 overall pick LaMelo Ball conducted an individual workout in front of head coaches and executives for the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons on Thursday in Southern California, sources told ESPN,” wrote Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

The Warriors, Hornets and Pistons are all teams headed in different directions and could do anything come draft day. However, each team is doing its due diligence if the Timberwolves decide not to go with Ball.

The Warriors appear to be the most likely of the three teams that watched Ball’s workout to trade their pick. Golden State is directly behind Minnesota at No. 2 but has been rumored to be shopping its pick to get a proven star.

However, if the Timberwolves go with James Wiseman or Anthony Edwards at No. 1, the Warriors could ultimately select Ball at No. 2.

With so many rumors swirling around the NBA and a lot of uncertainty heading into this draft, it seems to be anyone’s guess what will happen on Nov. 18 when these teams will officially be on the clock.
