Royce White — a former NBA player with the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota’s Republican nominee for a seat in the United States Senate — had some harsh words for Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry after he claimed he will support the Democratic nominee for president in Kamala Harris in part because of her stance on abortions.

“Best shooter of all-time… Air-balled on this one,” White’s post on X reads. “Men saying Women’s reproductive rights as their top policy response, is such a blatant virtue signal, it might be the weakest thing I’ve ever seen. The issue is not being taken back from the states, stop the cap. The whole thing is becoming a straw man to justify voting for Democrats that have lost their minds.
“Steph, tell me about the women’s rights for Uyghur muslims… All those women and girls… thrown in prison camps for their faith and ethnicity. Not a peep from you or the NBA. Just shut up if you won’t keep it real.”
Curry isn’t the only member of the Warriors organization who has spoken out in support of Harris of late. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke at the Democratic National Convention — which was held in the city of Chicago — a few weeks back.
Harris is for a woman’s right to choose. She is in favor of legislation that would protect folks’ rights to an abortion nationwide, which is what Roe v. Wade did before it was overturned by the United States Supreme Court a few years ago.
White, on the other hand, claims he is against abortion, though he has been accused of paying a woman thousands of dollars in order for her to get an abortion in the past.
At one point in time, White seemed destined to have a long and successful career in the NBA. He was one of the top players in the nation during the 2011-12 college basketball season, as he averaged 13.4 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game with Iowa State University.
However, White’s NBA career spanned only three games in total. He played in that many contests with the Kings in the 2013-14 regular season.
Prior to his incredibly brief stint with the Kings, White was selected by the Houston Rockets with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He never suited up in a single regular-season game with the team, though. He was battling generalized anxiety disorder as well as a fear of flying at the time and was publicly open about his struggles regarding his mental health.
In a few months, folks will know whether or not the former NBA player earns a seat in the United States Senate.
