The Sacramento Kings decided to let guard Bogdan Bogdanovic leave to join the Atlanta Hawks.
Now, with that strange drama behind them, the team is reportedly interested in bringing back a player who once played in Sacramento earlier in his career.
That player is big man Hassan Whiteside.
Whiteside began his career with the Kings after being the No. 33 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
Since then, he’s become a player known for being solid, albeit somewhat frustrating.
He was the league’s leading rebounder in the 2016-17 season and has been a two-time blocks leader.
However, he has struggled to stay engaged at times on both ends of the floor. He has also been known to cause some distraction off of the court, though last season he displayed consistent maturity.
Last year, Whiteside averaged 15.5 points and 13.5 boards per game.
If he does end up in Sacramento, he will likely look to lead the team’s frontcourt unit alongside Marvin Bagley III.
