Football legend Peyton Manning is reportedly among those who are actively monitoring the ownership situation of the Denver Broncos franchise.
“Hall of Fame quarterback and Denver resident Peyton Manning is among football people closely watching the Broncos’ pending sale, with league sources indicating that he has already spoken to at least two potential suitors for the team,” wrote Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
Officially, the team has not been put up for sale. However, the Broncos’ ownership group has been in disarray since the death of Pat Bowlen in 2019. There is widespread belief that the club will enter the market in the near future.
It makes sense for Manning to explore being part of the organization, whether as a potential minority investor or member of the team’s management.
The five-time MVP played in Denver from 2012 to 2015. He helped the team win the Super Bowl in his last season in the league. That was the franchise’s first championship since 1998.
