Jalen Ramsey’s time with the Los Angeles Rams could be up as he has been linked to several other franchises.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Detroit Lions have cropped up prominently in rumors. Still, there are other teams that could be in play for the star cornerback and compete with Detroit for his services.

“Now, Jalen Ramsey,” Fowler said on SportsCenter. “This could be a hot market on the trade front. The Rams are talking calls here, so I’ve talked to some teams this weekend to see what’s going on here and the Detroit Lions come up fairly often. It’s just a reasonable potential fit because Brad Holmes, the GM there, was with the Rams for a long time, he knows Ramsey’s game, they need cornerback help. They’ve been sort of a build through the draft team, but could be one to watch. Las Vegas Raiders need help there, so Ramsey, with his skillset, only 28 years old, even though he’s due $17 million should have some suitors.”

The 28-year-old has been with the Rams since 2019 when the team acquired him from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for draft picks. Teaming up with Aaron Donald, Ramsey helped Los Angeles take home the Super Bowl in 2022.

But the 2022 campaign saw the organization fail miserably to defend its title. Not only did it not reach the playoffs, L.A. also finished with a 5-12 record, its first losing season since the 2016 campign.

Key injuries to starters doomed the franchise. However, Ramsey was a bright spot for the Rams, with the veteran recording career-highs in combined tackles (88) and passes defended (18).

Even so, the organization seems ready to move on from the Florida State University product. Per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Ramsey is likely to be dealt soon.

There seems to be strong interest from the Lions, as some of their players have openly recruited Ramsey to Detroit. Among them are wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. The 23-year-old even mentioned Jared Goff, who Ramsey played with in Los Angeles. Ramsey stirred the pot when he responded to St. Brown’s pitch.

Another Lions player who has campaigned for the three-time All-Pro to come to Detroit is Jerry Jacobs. The cornerback appears to be salivating at the prospect of having Ramsey bolster the team’s defensive unit that gave up 25.1 points per game in the 2022 season.

Only time will tell where the six-time Pro Bowler ends up. The Rams might not be in too much of a hurry to accept any trade proposal that comes their way in order to allow other organizations to get into a bidding war.
