Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is reportedly eyeing the Los Angeles Rams as a potential trade destination.
Stafford and the Lions have reportedly agreed to part ways this offseason after 12 seasons, causing rumors to circulate throughout the league of where the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft might land via the trade market.
The Rams’ starting QB since midway through the 2016 season, Jared Goff, had a disappointing 2020 season despite reaching the NFC Divisional Round, throwing for 3,952 yards with 20 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He signed a four-year extension in 2019 worth $134 million with $110 million guaranteed
Stafford has broken virtually every Lions passing record during his time in Detroit and had another productive season this year while battling injuries and a depleted roster. He threw for 4,084 yards with 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Stafford has compiled plenty of stats over his career but is 0-3 all-time in the playoffs, while Goff is only two seasons removed from leading the Rams to an appearance in Super Bowl LIII.
