The New York Jets finally cut ties with disgruntled star safety Jamal Adams, trading him to the Seattle Seahawks for a hefty package.
Adams publicly requested a trade from the Jets in June, but his demands were unmet for over a month.
On Friday, Adams criticized Jets head coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas, and apparently that sped up the trade process.
In return, the Jets will receive two first-round picks from the Seahawks, as well as a third-rounder. Former Seahawks safety Bradley McDougald will join his fourth team since going undrafted in 2013.
For the Seahawks, they immediately add one of the league’s best safeties. Adams, who was the No. 6 overall pick in 2017, is a two-time Pro Bowler. He made first-team All-Pro in 2019 and second-team All-Pro in 2018.
