Report: Seahawks among teams showing interest in signing Antonio Brown

The Seattle Seahawks are undefeated after five games, and now they may be looking to complicate things by adding controversial wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Although Brown is not yet eligible to return to the field, the Seahawks will be among teams interested in signing the 32-year-old when the time comes.

“With Antonio Brown’s suspension eligible to end after Week 8, the Seattle Seahawks are now positioned to make a push to sign him, though they’re not alone, league sources told ESPN” wrote Adam Schefter.

Brown hasn’t played a down in the NFL since suiting up for one game with the New England Patriots last season. The veteran wideout caught a touchdown pass from Tom Brady in that game and looked like he had found a new home in the NFL.

Unfortunately for Brown, it wasn’t meant to be in New England with the team releasing him after sexual assault allegations surfaced.

Brown’s future in the NFL has been put in doubt since his release by the Patriots. He even flirted with retirement on more than one occasion during this limbo period. Now he may have another chance to resurrect his career with a legitimate Super Bowl title contender.

The Seahawks are arguably one of the elite teams in the league this season and could take their passing game to another level with the addition of Brown. However, it could easily go in the other direction with Brown in Seattle as he could cause more harm than good with his antics on and off the field.
