Report: Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and Sammy Watkins expected to be healthy for Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will square off in Super Bowl LV on Sunday, Feb. 7.

It looks like both teams will be close to full strength, as multiple players who missed the AFC and NFC Championship games will be back in the lineup, according to ESPN.

“Several injured players for the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to be healthy for Super Bowl LV,” ESPN wrote in a staff report.

 

“Chiefs running back Le’Veon Bell (knee) and wide receiver Sammy Watkins (calf), as well as the Bucs duo of wide receiver Antonio Brown (knee) and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle), are all expected to be ready for Feb. 7, sources told ESPN’s Dianna Russini.”

This is huge for both teams, as Bell, Watkins and Brown will help the two already explosive offenses.

While the three stars are returning, the Bucs still do not know the status of starting safety Jordan Whitehead.

“The Bucs’ other starting safety Jordan Whitehead, who forced two fumbles, left Sunday’s win over the Packers with a shoulder injury and did not return,” ESPN’s staff report said. “Whitehead underwent an MRI Monday, but sources told ESPN’s Jenna Laine that it’s too soon to tell whether or not he’ll be able to play in the Super Bowl, and that they’re taking it one day at a time to see how it goes.”

Super Bowl LV will feature two star quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. It is nice to see that the stars will have all of their top weapons available when the big game rolls around.
