LaVar Ball certainly has a lot to be proud of when it comes to the careers his kids are working on in the basketball world.
In the case of his son LaMelo, the 20-year-old has already established himself as one of the NBA’s most exciting young players. He’s a rising star for the Charlotte Hornets, which means he gets to play for the organization that is owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan.
However, the younger Ball apparently “never” goes to Jordan for advice. That’s what the elder Ball claims, at least.

“How often does he seek out advice from Michael Jordan? Never!” the elder Ball said. “What advice he gonna give him? You tell me what advice he gonna give him. … When the last time he won a championship? And the game has changed. What’s he gonna tell him?”
The elder Ball has made a name for himself with his hot takes and wild opinions, so fans probably aren’t too surprised to hear his comments about Jordan.
As for the younger Ball, whether he’s using Jordan as a resource or not, his career has gotten off to a fantastic start at the NBA level. After a strong year in his rookie campaign, he’s showing even more signs of growth in his second season.
The youngster is averaging 20.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game so far this season. He’s shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc.
The sky seems like the limit for the former first-round pick.
His Hornets are trying to reach the playoffs this season for the first time in several years. They’re currently 14-13.
