The Philadelphia 76ers seemingly couldn’t have gotten off to a more disastrous start in the 2024-25 regular season.
There were high expectations in Philadelphia heading into the campaign after the team added star forward Paul George and some other key players in the offseason. But the 76ers — due in part to availability issues — have just two wins to their name 12 games into the season and sit near the very bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
The good news is that it’s still relatively early. 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey still believes in his squad, and he has a request for fans: that they don’t give up yet.
Let me rephrase this…. Yall don’t give up on us yet!!! I believe in this team!!! https://t.co/b212CMDGtT

Maxey hasn’t been able to help the 76ers stem the bleeding of late, as he hasn’t played since the team lost to the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 6 due to a right hamstring strain. Fortunately, a recent injury update implies that the speedster could be back on the floor for Philadelphia in the near future.

The 24-year-old isn’t the only 76ers star who’s been bitten by the injury bug this season. Star big man Joel Embiid only recently made his season debut against the New York Knicks on Nov. 12 after he missed Philadelphia’s first nine games of the campaign with knee injury management and a suspension.
He hasn’t looked quite like his superstar self yet, considering he’s averaging 16.5 points per game while shooting an abysmal 26.9 percent from the field across two appearances. But fans of the 76ers shouldn’t be too concerned about those numbers, as he’s proven to be one of the NBA’s top players when at full strength.
When Embiid gets a few more games under his belt and regains his groove offensively, he will be very important in helping get Philadelphia back on the right track.
George’s season debut was also delayed due to a knee injury of his own. He’s now back in action but is still trying to find his footing this season himself. With any luck, the chips will start to fall in Philly’s favor soon.
