Former NBA guard Jeff Teague believes that Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James would dominate WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark if they played a one-on-one game against each other.
“Caitlin would not score a point on Bronny, bro,” Teague said.
Teague continued, even saying that James’ younger brother Bryce would also dominate against Clark.
“He would beat her by 60, bro,” Teague said of Bronny James. “He would legit beat her 20-0. Bryce James would beat her 20-0.”
Even though Clark was the best rookie in the WNBA this past season, Teague seems to believe that Bronny James would have no problem against her in a game.
There is a major size difference between Clark and Bronny James, as the Lakers guard is a couple inches taller than Clark and outweighs her by over 50 pounds. That certainly would make things tough on the Indiana Fever guard defensively.
However, to say Clark would not score is an interesting take.
The former University of Iowa star has insane range from beyond the arc, and she averaged 19.2 points per game in her rookie season in the WNBA while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from 3-point range.
An elite ball-handler, Clark may be able to free herself up a few times – or more – against Bronny James to get a basket.
As for the Lakers rookie, he has not played much at the NBA level, appearing in just seven games for L.A. in the 2024-25 season and getting low minutes. He has played a bigger role in the G League. The second-round pick has struggled with his efficiency at the NBA level, shooting just 12.5 percent from the field.
He has appeared in seven games at the G League level. In those games, he has averaged 13.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 37.4 percent from the field in 27.0 minutes per game.
Teague played in the NBA for a long time, so he clearly knows the talent level that it takes to make it in that league. Still, his take may be a little disrespectful to Clark given all the talent she has, especially since she took the WNBA by storm this past season.
Unless Bronny James and Clark end up playing a game against each other, Teague and others can only speculate on what would happen if the two matched up.
