The Brooklyn Nets reportedly have their eyes on veteran Jamal Crawford.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, the Nets and Crawford are in active talks.
“But a guy who was supposed to be on this roster, and that’s Jamal Crawford,” Haynes recently said on his podcast. “Jamal had– what, he had some– he had a hamstring injury during the bubble. And that kind of hampered what he was able to do in the offseason. But he’s somebody that they’re still talking to, having conversations.”
Crawford, 40, played in one game for the Nets last season in the NBA bubble in Orlando, Fla.
However, the Nets didn’t bring him back to start the 2020-21 campaign. Of course, the Nets have a completely different lineup now compared to that of last season.
Most notably, superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are in the rotation. As a result, the franchise is gunning for a championship.
The Nets lost guard Spencer Dinwiddie to an ACL injury for the remainder of the season. Perhaps, the loss of Dinwiddie could lead to a reunion between Crawford and Brooklyn.
The journeyman has career averages of 14.6 points and 3.4 assists per game.
