The Brooklyn Nets are shopping guard Spencer Dinwiddie.
The team reportedly wants a second-round pick and role player off the bench for Dinwiddie.
“Dinwiddie can be obtained for a role player off the bench who can contribute this season as Brooklyn chases a title and a future second-round pick, league sources told HoopsHype,” wrote Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com.
Dinwiddie, 27, is currently out of action due to a partially torn ACL injury that he suffered earlier in the season.
Nonetheless, the Nets are on mission to win a title this season and could use any type of support to aid that goal. They accelerated their championship desires by acquiring 2018 MVP James Harden this season.
One of the downsides of the Harden trade was how much depth the team had to give up in order to obtain the superstar.
While the Nets recently picked up six-time All-Star Blake Griffin, they are still looking for ways to augment their supporting cast around Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
A few teams, including the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons, are interested in Dinwiddie. The Pistons are open to trading a number of young players as they pursue a rebuild.
Although Dinwiddie is out for the rest of the season, he can provide teams with star shooting in the future. The veteran collected a career-high 20.6 points and 6.8 assists per game last season.
