President Donald Trump recently ordered the United States to conduct a direct military attack on Iran for the first time ever, escalating a military conflict that started between Iran and Israel this month. The U.S. dropped bombs on Iranian nuclear sites, and Trump claimed on Saturday night that Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities were “completely and totally obliterated.”
In light of Trump’s decision to get the U.S. involved in another foreign war, former Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas took aim at folks who opted to vote for the Republican in the 2024 presidential election. Trump beat out Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the election. She would have become the first woman president in the history of the country with a victory.
It’s insane the people who really voted from Trump 🤦🏾♂️

A major appeal of Trump’s campaign before he got elected was that he would be the president to end foreign wars and keep the United States out of conflicts. At a National Guard conference back in August of last year, Trump claimed that even non-Republicans would vote for him in part because he would put a stop to wars.
Furthermore, he alleged that the years-long war between Russia and Ukraine would be over before he even took office back in January, yet July is almost here, and the two nations are still warring. In addition, the war in Gaza is still ongoing despite a promise from Trump to quickly end it.
Thomas is directing some criticism Trump’s way on social media years after he was an elite floor general with the storied Celtics franchise. He earned two All-Star appearances during his time in Boston and even was in the running for the MVP award in his final season with the team.
He ended up with the fifth-most votes for the prestigious award in the 2016-17 campaign after he averaged 28.9 points while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from 3-point range along with 5.9 assists per game.
Hopefully, Trump can bring Israel and Iran to the negotiating table soon and end this conflict, and perhaps he will eventually do something similar with the other wars he promised to stop.
